Smart Systems
Advances in smart technology have changed the way we monitor and control the many different components on a boat.
Integration is key to delivering total boat control and monitoring through one connected system. Manage the electrical and mechanical components of your boat from a multifunction display, smartphone or tablet.
From monitoring engine performance and fuel levels to controlling an air conditioner and anchor winch, digital switching eliminates the need to operate an array of manual switches in different locations on your boat.
HMB Marine Electrical are well-versed in the design and installation of smart systems. If you’d like to take your boating experience to a whole new level, please get in touch.

Let’s say your shore power connection failed, and as a result, your batteries are no longer charging.
A boat monitor would see your batteries decline below a threshold you’ve set, and would send you an email and a text message.
A connected boat system would likely also be monitoring your shore power connection and letting you know that it has failed while tracking the charge on your house bank and alerting you again when the batteries get low.
But a “smart” boat system would have all this information and the ability to do something about it.
It could see that the shore power is out and that the batteries are low, and could see that there’s fuel in the tanks, and could start the generator to recharge the batteries before shutting the generator back down and continuing to monitor.
